Memorial Day 2010!!!

Thank you to all the military women and men that have served to protect our country's freedom. I'm thankful every day that I live in a free country. Thank you again for helping keeping us free.

What a weekend in Seward. The weather has been amazingly wonderful. The sun has been out, the wind has been reasonable, and I'm now ready to plant the rest of my flowers.

This weekend the tourist's have now started taking over Seward. I just wish the B & B was fuller. Oh well, I'm sure they will come as the season goes along.

I think it was one of the most perfect days I've ever had in Seward. The mountain view was awesome, the tulips are just about ready to bloom, Anne is once again digging holes to find cooler spots to relax and the fire pit as ready to use. It was 67 and no wind. I sat on the deck in a zero gravity chair and took a quick nap.

I wish you were here to share this with me.

Amazing

I forgot to tell you about all the amazing animals I saw on the way to work last week. One thing I really like about this time of the year is all the wild life that if out and about. I saw several moose, a little black bear, coyote, eagles, and before I left home hummingbirds drinking at the feeders.

I also heard that there was a huge herd of sea lions that had followed the fish into the bay. I saw several pictures. It was awesome to see that many sea lions in one spot.

Come visit and see if you can't see these animals too.

Well, is Spring here? I still have piles of snow, but they are getting smaller every day. The fire pit has just come out of the snow. Now I just need to get my flowers, herbs and veggies planted. Let's hope this summer is a sunny one.

The B & B reservations are looking better than last year. I hope the reservations keep pouring in.

Have a great day, week, month.

Enough already!!

Okay it is the 23 of April and there was 3 inches of snow on the ground this morning. Only good thing about getting snow this late in the year, is I know that it will melt pretty fast. I think it is time for the snow to stop so that I can plant my flowers and veggies.

Easter Sunday and 1st B & B Guests

What a wonderful day, even though it snowed. Easter Sunday was wonderful. I played the bells at the Methodist Church. I love playing the bells. My Dad and Grandpa would have loved coming to watch me play the bells. I wish my Mom could/would come and watch me play the bells.

I had my first B & B guests this weekend. It is a couple that has been here three times before. I love having repeat visitors. If you know of anyone coming to Seward this summer and they need a place to stay. Send them to alaskaglaciercreek.com.

Snow

Boy, am I ready for the snow to be gone. I know that it will take a while and the wait will be worth it.

I'm getting more and more excited about planting flowers and veggie this Spring. I have three brand new flower boxes that will be on the south side of the house. It is hard deciding what to plant in them.

Now that I have the three flower boxes, my next project is to get a great green house, a couple of flower boxes on the north side of the house and a lawn like many of my friends have. In about 10 years it will all be in place.
